Shining Stars

The “Shining Stars” is children’s ministry of Divine Empowerment Centre Church founded and headed by the Senior Pastors; Peter Jackson and Betty Oburu.

Children are a gift from God, every marriage and family desires to have children (I Samuel 1:1-20); however, it is one thing to have children and another to rise them up in a Godly way. Many parents have failed this task, leaving the world to raise their children for them.

Eli was the high priest of Israel for about 40 years. He failed to raise up his children in a Godly way and they ended up disappointing him and God (1 Samuel 2:12-17). They were meant to take over from their father but they failed and Samuel became a replacement of Eli.

Samuel too like his predecessor found himself in the same trap. Samuel was considered one of the greatest judges of Israel but his children failed him and instead of the children succeeding their father, Israel demanded for a King (1 Samuel 8:1-5)

Abraham was commended by God not just because of his great faith in God (Genesis 15:6), but because he was able to teach and pass God’s word and commandments to his children (Genesis 18:19)

Great leaders must be able to raise up their children in God’s ways so that they can begin from where their parents stopped.

Parents and guardians should be able to pass on to their children not only; education, land, houses, money, ungodly traditions but also the rich heritage of faith in God. Abraham passed it to Isaac (Genesis 25:6), Isaac passed it to Jacob and Jacob passed it to Joseph and his eleven brothers. As a parent or guardian what are you passing on to your child? It is unfortunate that our generation is letting the next generation down, the heritage of Faith in God and Godly value which we received from our fathers; we are refusing to share or pass it on to our children in the name of promoting children’s right.

Forgetting that we are gradually losing these children to the world and negative force of darkness and we’ll one day stand before God to account for their well-being and upbringing.

Kids ministry is an incredible opportunity to allow the children encounter Jesus for themselves, learn to love God and others from an early age.

Therefore, as Divine Empowerment Centre Church we believe in passing Godly virtue and value to children of all age for purposes of making them; God fearing, responsible, smart and hardworking citizens who will leave this world a better place than they got it by making a significant contribution to it. This we intend to do through conducting the different levels of children’s church.

To establish a Centre of Deliverance, Healing and Empowerment in every community world over.

To mentor and train up children in God’s way. (Proverbs 22:6)
